BIRDS FOUND: Cockatiel
Found: Takoma Park Maryland
An adorable little female cockatiel has been found in
Takoma Park, Maryland, she will be fostered in Cecil
County Maryland until the owner has been located after she
is released from the Vets. She is extremely skinny and
weak, she is showing signs of illness. I will answer all
calls regarding her she is banded. I will not release her
to anyone other than the owner and only after she is well
enough to be released according to the vet. She is
receiving the best possible care at this time, and will
continue to be given the best care possible when she comes
to her foster home. Call 410-658-4895 if you think she
could be yours.

A female cockatiel was found when she landed in a yard in Takoma
Park, Maryland.
She appeared not too far from New Hampshire Ave, she is a pretty sick
little
girl and she has lost most of her body weight. She has been taken to
an Avian
Vet for emergency care where she is being incubated to keep her warm,
handfed to
insure she is getting nutrition and will be treated for any illness
that is
presented. Once she is released from the Avain vets office she will
be fostered
in Cecil County Maryland and her foster mom will continue with all
medical needs
and care until the Avian vet says she is well enough to return to her
Family.
Please understand I am experienced in the care of sick birds and
medicating them
by an avian vets instructions. I will not risk
releasing her until she is well enough to go home if instructed by
the Vet. She
needs an adequate diet to meet her needs in addition to the
medication. She will
receive the best possible care in my home along with love and
attention by my
family members. If you feel this could be your baby please feel free
to email:

Found Cockatiel in Tom's River New Jersey on Sept. 14, 07 young, grey
body but
not a normal grey, need to describe the face to claim, I am pretty
sure it is a
female by behavior, the finder is not a bird person and no one so far
has
stepped up to claim him/her, so I am fostering this little baby in
Maryland
until the family can claim her/him. The family may think it is a male
so I will
entertain any descriptions for a male/female that fits, if you have
pictures all
the better.

Ralph is a tame, adult Double Yellow Headed Amazon. Ralph was a
found bird in Springfield, OR. EBR volunteers responded and lured
him down out of an apple tree by shaking a bag of walnuts. Ralph
flew down to the fence in front of us and we were able to catch
him. He's one lucky bird as he had been in the tree for a few
days, the weather was cold, and he was thin and weak. Yet another
reminder of why it's a good idea to have your bird's wings
trimmed! Ralph is now healthy and at a normal weight. He is
interacting more and more with his foster mom, loves to talk and
is recovering wonderfully. Ralph steps up but does bite
occasionally. He is nervous when handled but has made alot of
progress and with a little extra TLC would make someone a
wonderful amazon. Ralph's adoption fee is $250. Ralph has been in
rescue since Feb-2007 . *To adopt a bird you must attend bird
care/behavior classes regardless of where you live. We only adopt
within reasonable day's driving distance of the
Eugene/Springfield area. We do not ship birds. At the class you
can receive the name of the foster home that has the bird you're
interested in and you can make an appointment with the home to do
visits with the bird. A certain number of visits is required for
each bird before an application will be accepted. Upon completing
meetings with the bird you can put in your application at that
time if you choose and expect to attend an adoption meeting.
Large birds and some small will have a probation period during
which time you will serve as the foster home before an adoption
will be finalized. There will be a home inspection for every
adoption. If the adoption is approved, either on a probationary
basis or not, payment is then due and you can arrange to pick up
your bird. There may be follow up phone calls from Exotic Bird
Rescue after the adoption. Adoptions are not a first come first
serve deal- we choose the most appropriate home for that
particular bird. Exotic Bird Rescue

I have a green quaker parrot that is in need of a good home. We
found him outside in June when he flew up to us. Several attempts
were made to find his owner with no success. I am not able to
continue to keep him. (I do not know the sex) He needs a home
that has experience with parrots. He is stubborn and has become
attached to my family so right now he doesn't like strangers. He
needs someone who knows how to deal with parrots and has
patience. Once he warms up to you he is quite friendly. Cage is
not included as I am only borrowing it for now. Please email me:

Thursday we learned that our Timneh African Grey was stolen from a
pet store around Duval and 183. The bird is only a few months old and
is too weak to be without informed and experienced care. We already
bought the bird and fell in love with the day we saw him. The bird is
sexed and DNA tested. The bird was taken thursday, January 3rd, and
we only want him back with no questions asked. Please, if anyone has
any information pertaining to the bird. Our story is on the kxan
website and aired saturday night. Again, please email me if you have
any information about our bird or tips on what the next step for us
to take might be! Thank you so much!
